While scanning the jewelry cases at the Estates this week, my eye was caught several times by the beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces made by local artist, Anita Singh.  The following is just a small sample of Anita’s work, perfect for weddings.

Anita Singh is from the Caribbean and started making jewelry about 10 years ago as a way to express herself.  She finds inspiration from within as well as from nature.  Anita uses many different materials in her designs, but particularly loves working with crystals and natural gemstones. 

Her jewelry is available through the Edison & Ford Winter Estates Museum Store as well as at Designer’s Hair Salon.  Anita Singh’s jewelry will soon be available at Potomic Bead Company in Downtown Fort Myers.

Last week I received a Save-the-Date postcard from Rachel and Steve who are getting married at the Estates on November 14^th, 2009.  The card was so beautiful that I had to share it! 

Rachel and Steve are from Fort Myers, but currently live in Orlando, FL.  They worked to design the postcard with graphic designer Austin Petito of Winter Park’s Mama’s Sauce Print Shoppe.  Their friend Nick Sambrato, also of Fort Myers, owns and operates Mama’s Sauce and is working with Austin on Rachel and Steve’s letterpress invitation, promising to “push the limits” with this piece. 

Their save-the-date is a continuation of a design they are using for their invitations and throughout the wedding’s “two birds” theme.  “The picture of us was taken July 1^st of 2008 on Lake Huron in Northern Michigan, minutes after Steve proposed on a family trip to their cabin.  It was a complete surprise that EVERYONE knew about but me!” says Rachel.
